The
current Jill Watkins Band was formed in December 2002. Jill raves
about the talent of her fellow musicians. “They are treasures
that were handed to me on a silver platter,” she says. The
passion for music, professionalism, and enthusiasm
are obvious in every appearance.
They play together like old friends and enjoy every minute of it.
Jill's
voice and stage presence backed by their level of talent
and commitment to the music is a combination of excellence
not to be missed! Catch The Jill Watkins Band if you can!

Jill’s
singing career began at the age of five, singing for her church
choir. Her first solo performance was at the age of eight.
Jill’s journey has taken her from singing gospel to
singing the blues in her own band. "I thank God for this
gift he gave me. I have nothing to do with it . . ."
The
influence of her musical heroes - from Aretha Franklin and
Koko Taylor to Bonnie Raitt and Janis Joplin - is obvious
in her style, stage presence, and musical selection. Her powerful
voice, playfulness, and personality fill every room she plays.
|
| Guitarist,
John Ragan: John started playing
guitar the day after The Beatles were on The Ed Sullivan
Show and never looked back. He is a veteran of
several excellent Colorado bands and co-authors many of the
original songs performed by the Jill Watkins Band. He is the
“heart and soul of The Jill Watkins Band,” according
to Jill. |
 |
 |
Bassist,
Chris-Dax: A talented musician,
Chris-Dax is also a fine guitarist who handles the acoustic
numbers for the Jill Watkins Band. He started playing at age
13, performing professionally for the first time not long after
that. Chris is a familiar figure on the stages of clubs across
Colorado. He provides the “vision and drive” that
keeps them moving forward. |
|
Percussionist,
Walter Sorrentino: "Born in Chicago"
is a blues classic! Walt Sorrentino is indeed a classic blues
drummer and was, indeed, born in Chicago. Fortunately for
us, Walt brought his percussion skills to Colorado many years
ago and provides the perfect rhythm for the Jill Watkins Band.
Jill
says Walt “is the pulse and consistency behind all of
us.”
