Jill's Story

Jill Watkins (AKA JilliandraminaAlexandriaExpidocious Pork Chop Durban Watkins Michko) started singing in her church choir at the age of five. She attributes her knowledge and love of singing to the directors of those choirs, who each showed her so much. As a red-headed-stepchild with a penchant for trouble, Jill was often found in her room, singing into her hair brush along with Aretha Franklin.  To this day, she is still trying to hit those high notes.

With Jill’s high-volume and pulchritude (paraphrasing from review by Dan Demuth. Love him!), a life on the stage was inevitable.  Her vocal journey lead her from karaoke contests, to back-up singer, to her original blues project, the "Jill Watkins Band", to featured artist with jump-and-swing band "George Whitesell and his All-Stars Featuring Jill Watkins," to vocalist with the New-Orleans-themed band, "Jockamo," to collaborator with the all-women’s show "HERmonious," and, singing with the internationally renowned (cuz she told her friend in Canada) funk and jazz band "FUNK KNUF"!

Jill has shared the stage with, opened up for, and joined in festivals with many international artists: Chris Duarte (Lion's Lair), Bob Margolin (Recorded with Jill on "Skat" with George Whitesell and His All Stars Featuring Jill Watkins), Gina Sicilia (Blues Under the Bridge), Big Bill Morgenfield (Boulder Outlook - Blues and Greens), Ronny Baker Brooks (Boulder Outlook - Blues and Greens),

Jill is also honored to sing The National Anthem and God Bless America for special events.
